The Inaugural Hilo Golf Classic was hosted by Hilo Junior Golf in 1982. Today, the Classic is the only major fundraiser sponsored by the current junior golf program now known as Big Island Junior Golf Association. Proceeds from this tournament are used to subsidize the costs of its program events. Each year, help is sought to recruit family and friends to complete the entry form to secure a spot in the field of a maximum of 180 players. The format of the tournament has varied between two person and three person modified scramble based on 25% of the team members handicap and with staggered prizes.

The Big Island Junior Golf Association would like to thank you for your past support and patience as we rescheduled our tournament. We’re excited and fortunate to host the 38th Annual Hilo Golf Classic on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the Hilo Municipal Golf Course at 7:00 a.m. (shotgun). This year, we will again host a Two Person Modified Scramble and invite you and your friends to join us to support our Big Island junior golfers – the future of this sport.

The two person modified scramble will be based on 25% of the combined team members’ handicap and with staggered prizes. Again, we will have a shotgun start at 7:00 a.m. 

* Early bird registration special - $250 (for two players) by March 13, 2024

* Regular registration - $300 (for two players) by March 20, 2024

Thanks to the tremendous support of our parents, volunteers, and people like you, BIJGA has been able to continue to develop and maintain our program for the youngsters on our island.
