Mr. Arnie Asato was a longtime supporter of the Big Island Junior Golf Association. Per request of his wife, Mrs. Wendy Asato, and to celebrate his memory and recognition of his contributions to Junior Golf in Hawaii, the Arnie Asato Memorial Fund was established. This fund holds the proceeds of The One-and-Only Arnie Asato Memorial Golf Tournament held in 2015, for the benefit of our junior golfers. 

Proceeds from this fund are being used to purchase monthly players cards for one designated month in the year, typically from the Hilo Municipal Golf Course, for all current BIJGA Junior Members, until the exhaustion of funds. 

This year, we are providing BIJGA junior Golfers a Hilo Municipal Golf Course monthly card for the month of July 2024. Also, for our members on the West side, in lieu of a July 2024 monthly Muni card, the Arnie Asato Memorial Fund will provide a single junior round of golf at the Village Course at Waikoloa.  Huge Mahalo to Mr. Kevin Hayashi at the Village Course who has also volunteered to charge a reduced rate of $25 each to players that accompany a BIJGA junior up to a foursome.  

Waikoloa Village - Juniors have from July 1st through the end of the month July 31st to redeem their free round at the Village.

We ask that juniors please choose either one option or the other. Juniors that participate in both promotions will be charged for the additional cost.

We would like to thank Mr. Rodney Acia, the Hilo Municipal Golf Course, Mr. Kevin Hayashi, and of course Mrs. Wendy Asato, and the entire Asato family for their continued support and priceless contribution to the Big Island Junior Golf Association.

Please remember that when you're there you represent the Big Island Junior Golf Association, make them proud.
