BIJGA Most Improved Player of the Year

Once a year, the Big Island Junior Golf Association will recognize and present an award for “The Most Improved or most inspirational Player of the Year” to 1 boy and 1 girl. They were selected by the Club Play Committee and recognized at our annual banquet. Honorable Jr’s are selected based on the following criteria:

  • This BIJGA member must be in good standing and participate in 50% or more of BIJGA tournaments, events, and club plays.
  • Member must demonstrate improvement within the calendar year and exemplify a progress factor that exceeds our expectation as an outstanding player, competitor, and friend.
  • Member must be in the condition to properly represent BIJGA, communicate well, and comply with all BIJGA rules and expectations.
  • Member must show enthusiasm for the game of golf and exist in harmony among fellow peers and competitors. Nominees for this honor will not be chosen entirely from scores or physical ability.

Big Island Junior Golf will continue to provide golf opportunities for all skill levels, practice the rules of golf, and foster good sportsmanship on or off the course. All Juniors are motivated to practice their game, make new friends, and demonstrate proper golf etiquette.  This award will be presented to both recipients at the BIJGA Annual Banquet.
